Step 1: Register online by creating an online profile.
All volunteers are required to register prior to scheduling (Intake form below). Once completed, you can schedule right away.
Step 2: Schedule your first volunteer shift by emailing us at: porchlightcommunity@gmail.com.
Opportunities exist every day, we offer morning, evening, and weekend hours. Email us confirming the date and time we shall expect you at our office location.
Volunteer Positions
Organizer & Pantry Restock
Sort, organize, stock, clean, and sanitize all surfaces, empty trash cans, sweep & Mop the floor. Average Time: 1-2 hours ( M, W & F)
Daily Operations
Staff pantry store during non-client hours to assist with office/clerical work, accept donations, and answer online questions. Can be done remotely. Average Time: 2-4 hours a week (M, W & F)
Food Rescue
Pickup donated surplus food items at local restaurants and grocery stores. Can be evenings but normally mornings Average Time: 1-2 hours a week (every day)
Event Set up
Organize, plan, and execute “grocery store” set up, Supervise, and provide work direction and instructions to other volunteers. *Additional Training provided. Average Time: 4 hours per shift (THURS & SUNDAY)
Event Hosting
Assist, guide, and provide personalized service to our clients when they are shopping. Tidy up as necessary.
